(Man, thats about 1300-1400 people) Best school teams were from - Vidya Mandir (first), P. S. Senior (second and third). Best Corporate team was from CTS. Best all-girl team was from WCC (Women's Christian College). The best team was awarded to a team named 'Anything but 49/51!'. The winner of the quiz was 'QED' for the third time in a row. The runner up was 'We are like this wonly' from Bangalore for the third time in a row! Okay. Thanks for revisiting and all that. Next update only next year. Same date though - 2nd October. Here is a mail we got today morning .. (thanks sumo, meant a lot to us)

Hi Naresh - This mail is for the entire team that put together the IIT M open yesterday, and specifically the Quiz Masters. If possible, please share this mail with BoFi, Chinmay, Pota and 10G

I think it was among the best quizzes I have had the pleasure of participating in and every moment on stage was time spent learning something new and exciting. I think the quiz was put together on some solid research and presented exquisitely.

To me, the IIT M Open has always been about learning of new books to read, new paintings to understand, new games to play and new music I ought to watch out for. For this, I think the answers to the questions were glossed over without enough attention to detail. Given the effort you guys put in to set the questions and the amount of thought you put into framing the question itself, I would have loved more explanations on the answers. I think there were a few answers that went past me so quickly I could not get much out of it. For example - the eye operation question of Mo/anet, went whoosh, Deus Ex, The Gauguin Questions, Gumping, Michael Moore / Paul Rafferty - all were phenomenal questions, and as I check out Wikipedia articles on these, I am beginning to understand the questions themselves.

I understand the pressures of time etc. but I believe that I, and a substantial portion of the audience can get more out of the IIT M Open if you could take the time to explain the answers / allow answering teams to do that. I think this will make for an even more phenomenal quiz in the years to come.

Thank you, again, for a wonderful evening on October 2

If anybody wants the quiz, contact us... or maybe we will put it up on our blogs
(thebofi.blogspot.com)(chinmayhegde.blogspot.com)(subramanyag.blogspot.com)
If we dont, at least our hit counters get a boost (like anshu's)!
And also, thanks to Baaju (Naresh) for his hard work and Prof. Idichandy, dean students for his support.
And also, the this website got 1970 hits before the quiz started. So thanks for visiting! The mirror on iitm server is not counted. So, total must be more than 2000. That makes me a happy person! :D
